Job Description

Role: Director of Business Development - EV Fleets

Remuneration: £85,000 to £95,000 basic salary + 20% bonus + equity scheme

Location: UK-wide with 1-2 days a week in the London office



This is a fantastic opportunity  to join a leading Energy Storage and EV infrastructure developer based in London, with projects spanning multiple regions and continents, including the UK, Europe, Australia, and the USA.

They have established themselves as a UK market leader in large utility-scale battery storage projects, with 175MW of operational grid-scale battery capacity and are now a leading firm in the financing and provision of turnkey solutions for heavy-duty electric vehicle fleets, which accounts for the ownership and operation of a third of the UK's electric buses. 


  • Ensure the company procures financing facilities that are commercially attractive and provide for the lowest cost of capital achievable
  • Manage and develop financier relationships
  • Deal execution: managing commercial and legal negotiations with financiers to support funding facilities
  • Actively manage financial risks that the company is exposed to including managing client counter party credit risk (use of credit insurance), cash flow/operational, FX and Interest Rate
  • Business development of the company's fleet propositions and manage executed client relationships to generate further income
  • Land customer mandates for the company's proposition to generate income meeting the necessary levels of returns and execute customer transactions
  • Prepare pitches, customer transaction proposals, Term Sheets and Investment Committee papers and present these to customers/senior company stakeholders to obtain necessary
  • Lead customer (Bus Operator/C&I) pitches and prepare presentation material
  • Manage commercial negotiations with customer's and execute new contracts/transactions
  • Complete commercial analysis ahead of client propositions to ensure they are commercially viable/attractive to the company
  • Develop the company's commercial/services propositions
  • Implement transaction processes including risk control mechanisms


Desired Backgrounds/Experiences/Skills/Attributes

  • Strong finance background
  • Preferably from a vehicle leasing background in the UK (international is a plus)
  • Must have excellent experience of credit facilities, origination exposure, and proposition development
  • Experience building a team
