Senior Protection & Control Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Management of design personnel
• Development and review of personnel
• Conceptual design of electrical protection systems
• Construction of protection logic files.
• Electrical protection system specification for tendering and construction purposes
• Tender review from an electrical protection standpoint
• Review of specialist manufacturer schematics and GA drawings
• Development of standard protection systems, new design concepts, cost reduction
• Review and inspection of new products/manufacturers for internal use and distribution
• Development and review of I/O schedules and communications architecture
• Development of company policy on security systems

Essential criteria:

• Experience as a commissioning engineer (8-10 years)
• Experience as a protect and control engineer (+5 years)
• EHV substation project delivery experience up to 132kv
• Knowledge of relevant BSEN, IEC, CIGRE, IEEE, and ENA standards.
• EHV Contracting Experience
• A clean UK driver's licence
• AutoCAD Knowledge
• Highly organised with the ability to prioritise
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Ability to effectively problem solve and think outside the box
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with ease
• Professional demeanour and presentation

Desirable criteria:

• CEng/IEng registered or working towards registration
• Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
• Previous Experience +2 year as a Senior Protection and Control Engineer.
• Direct experience working for an ICP or DNO in the UK
