Head of Cloud Migration

6+ months contract

Hybrid remote - London

The Head of Cloud Migration drives public cloud delivery cross-functionally with a focus on outcome-oriented KPIs. This is a critical role in an exciting multi-year program of work, sitting in the context of the wider Strategic Partnership and aligned to our technology strategy, which will bring significant change and opportunity to client

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience managing global IT organisations
  • Experience driving execution of large-scale, multi-year transformation / technology modernisation
  • Passionate people-leader that inspires change and organisational buy-in
  • Demonstrated ability to present to and influence senior management and establish credibility with business executives
  • Assurance of delivery and execution in consistent, timely manner by ensuring documentation and adoption of best practices
  • Effective, detail-oriented communication and project and program management skills
  • Broad technical appreciation of micro-services design and modern technology environments, specifically public cloud infrastructure and architecture
  • Understanding of delivery experience, DevOps, SRE, IAM and automated toolchains
  • Experience in managing people at an organisation with a large, strong public cloud program; preference for experience with Azure
  • Manager of relationships and agreements with vendors (preferable cloud), emphasizing flexibility in contractual commitments to adapt to changing business needs

Responsibilities:

  • Own responsibility for the overall Infrastructure program workstream, ensuring desired outcomes are delivered in migrating to Azure cloud, including transforming ways of working of the
  • global workforce of over 15,000 people
  • Govern overall infrastructure and engineering transformation (including cross-workstream orchestration, performance management, governance forums and dashboards/metrics); ensure simple, clear articulation and persistent, sustainable execution
  • Design and build out the integrated client / Microsoft organisational structure for the transformation office and associated governance
  • Enable capabilities that span across several elements of the Infrastructure workstream (e.g., FinOps, vendor management, financial reporting)
  • Act as the Infrastructure workstream interface with the broader transformation programme 
  • Collaborate proactively and widely across client / Microsoft to understand the aims and outcomes of all relevant initiatives to highlight and leverage the benefits of alignment
  • Partner across client to deliver improvements to any processes which can accelerate delivery of this Infrastructure stream
  • Support the Technology Leadership Team in driving and shaping the future state of the organization for the client's partnership with Microsoft while ensuring alignment with the client's Technology strategy
