Java – Trading Flow Access Technology, Equities Tech – Budget $300K TC

We are looking for a strong developer to join our Trading Flow Access team in the New York office. The successful candidate will join a team that designs and develops tools for data access/exposure working hands-on with traders/PMs, other developers, QA and production support teams.

A perfect candidate would be an experienced hands-on Java developer with a solid understanding of concurrent, multi-threaded application building principles. Familiarity with SQL/kdb+ databases is a big plus.

Principal Responsibilities

• Build real-time data access applications
• Creating new features and enhancing functionality on a mission critical platform
• Developing high quality software while meeting deadlines
• Presenting ideas for system improvements
• Designing/upgrading existing software to ensure that product performance and quality expectations are met
• Facing off with business and help drive discussion on new features

Qualifications/Skills

• 5+ years of strong industrial Java server-side development experience building large systems
• Deep understanding of concurrent, multi-threaded application environments
• Advanced Unix/Linux user
• Working experience with financial order/execution data, position data and market data is a big plus
• Knowledge of SQL, kdb+/Q and Python is a plus
• B.S. in Computer Science (CS) or a related field
• Demonstrates thoroughness and strong ownership of work
• Good team player with a strong willingness to participate and help others
• Strong communication skills
• Cope with pressure, fast-pace development, and changing project priorities
