In this role, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Managing a small team, providing support for their daily activities, and fostering their development
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand profit factors and stay abreast of market trends
  • Monitoring industry shifts and analysing competitors' pricing strategy
  • Generating diverse monitoring reports using appropriate tools and techniques, while utilising them for proactive oversight and informed decision-making to optimise pricing and enhance profitability
  • Developing and implementing effective pricing strategies, presenting them to senior management
  • Playing a significant role in enabling the team to achieve strategic objectives by offering pricing recommendations and insights based on lead modelling and analysis
  • Engaging in collaborative efforts with various departments across the organisation to enhance data quality and leverage it for the improvement of pricing models
  • Developing and maintaining the price optimiser, as well as all components that contribute to the calculation
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards
  • Comfortably preparing and sharing timely updates/proposals in the weekly pricing committee and communicating the impact of price strategies
  • Being creative in assisting the head of pricing in developing and shaping the direction of the pricing function
  • Serving as a main point of contact for pricing with key stakeholders
  • Bringing curiosity and data science innovation to the team
  • Any additional duties and responsibilities that may reasonably be expected to be undertaken in accordance with the role.

The ideal candidate for this role should possess:

 

  • A minimum of 5 years of pricing experience
  • Preferred experience in retail pricing/optimisation within the General Insurance/Broker market
  • Proficiency in using Earnix
  • Commercially inclined with a growth mindset
  • Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and numerical skills
  • Comfortable making decisions in situations with a level of uncertainty
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a focus on delivery
  • Capability to establish and maintain robust working relationships with various stakeholders
  • A degree in mathematics, finance, economics, or a related field
  • Experience utilising a diverse set of tools, including R, SAS, SQL, Python, Earnix
