Senior Pricing Actuarial Analyst - Pricing - Chicago - Hybrid - Up to $160,000

 

I am currently working with a World Leading Insurance Carrier who are looking for a Senior Pricing Actuarial Analyst to join their team in Chicago!

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the profitability of E&S Casualty sectors, including Energy, Products Liability, Construction, General Casualty, Public Entities, and Transportation for General Liability and Auto Liability.
  • Collaborate with underwriting teams to formulate pricing and underwriting strategies, identifying areas for profitable growth.
  • Track changes in rates, exposure, retention, and business turnover. Analyse loss trends and industry/regulatory changes, and effectively communicate insights to management.
  • Develop innovative business solutions to maximize risk-adjusted profits. Create and implement analytical tools to manage existing portfolios effectively.
  • Partner with reserving actuaries to understand reserve development and inform them of pricing and underwriting actions affecting reserve estimates.
  • Examine and monitor the profitability of casualty lines by industry segment and geography.
  • Research and implement best practice pricing techniques, including Generalized Linear Models (GLMs), across the business.
  • Mentor and train junior staff members.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • ACAS designation or near ACAS status.
  • A good Actuarial experience in Commercial Lines P&C insurance, with a preference for commercial property pricing.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with a background liaising with Underwriters/Brokers.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, R, or other programming languages is preferred.
  • Excellent business skills, a collaborative spirit, and responsiveness to service needs and operational demands.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
